Description

Alkaline accumulator and battery nickel-iron TPNZh-550M-U2 and 46TPNZh-550M-U2

The accumulator and the battery are designed to operate in the starter mode to start the diesel locomotive, as well as to power the control circuits, lighting and auxiliary loads when the diesel is not running.

Conventions :

numbers before letters – the number of batteries connected in series in the battery;

TP – scope (diesel locomotives);

НЖ – electrochemical system (nickel – iron);

number after letters – nominal capacity (С 5 ), A.h .;

M – modernized;

У – climatic version;

2 – placement category according to GOST 15150-69.

Battery design

The accumulator consists of positive and negative electrodes, placed alternately in a block and isolated from each other by a separator made of corrugated and perforated vinyl plastic. The electrode block is housed in a steel tank. To protect against corrosion, the tank is covered with an alkali-resistant paint and varnish material.

In order to ensure the electrical isolation of the batteries from each other and from the battery box, a cover is put on each battery.

The electrical resistance of the battery insulation must be at least 1.5 megohms.

Positive and negative electrodes consist of lamellas, interconnected in a lock and reinforced on both sides with steel ribs. Contact strips are welded to the ribs. The electrodes are connected through contact strips with a stud, intermediate rings and tightening nuts.

Each battery has four bores, which are brought out through the openings of the tank lid and are isolated from it by plastic rings, bushings and rubber rings, which are assembled into a sealed unit that prevents the electrolyte from flowing out of the battery.

An aqueous solution of caustic potassium with the addition of (20 + 1) g / l of lithium oxide hydrate is used as an electrolyte in batteries.

Note – The battery voltage in tables 1 and 2 is indicated taking into account the voltage drop in the jumpers, which is not more than 2%.

Nominal capacity of the accumulator (battery) at 5-hour discharge current mode
0.2C 5 A and ambient temperature (20 + 5) 0 C must be reached no later than
6 cycle.

A charged battery (battery) must withstand 15 conditional starts by the starter discharge mode with currents of I and II stages with an interval between them of 1-2 minutes.

The capacity of the battery (battery) after being stored in a charged state for
30 days at ambient temperature (20 + 5) 0 C and discharged with current (110 + 3) A should be at least 82.0Ah.

Manufacturer’s Warranties

& nbsp;

The guaranteed storage period for accumulators and batteries is 2.5 years from the date of their manufacture.

The warranty period for accumulators and batteries is 3 years from the date of putting them into operation (according to the diesel engine start-up mode) and 3.5 years – as part of dual-use equipment.
